“Salt & Stone is one of my favorite body care brands — the scents smell clean, warm and not too overpowering, and they last a long time on my skin,” says Godio, and this nourishing hand cream is no exception. “I have very dry, sensitive skin, so it can be hard to find quality, scented skin care products that actually work well with no irritation. The brand’s lotions leave my skin feeling soft, smooth and smelling great.”
Jewelry can be hard to get right, but take it from us: “Catbird’s jewelry is dainty and delicate — I’ve had mine forever and they’re still perfect,” says Malin. This bracelet, which is made in Brooklyn, New York comes in 14k gold in five sizes. “It’s a gift your loved one can cherish for years to come.”
“When I need a lip balm that’s hydrating in the long-term, the Topicals Slick Salve is my first choice,” says NBC Select associate SEO reporter Ashley Morris. Made with hyaluronic acid, ceramides and rice bran, “it’s glossy without being too sticky, and has a tingly sensation that stimulates your lips, which I love. NBC Select updates editor Mili Godio loves the feel of cashmere but doesn’t love the price tag on most options. “I bought this Quince sweater after seeing glowing reviews online and was tempted by the $50 price tag,” says Godio. “It’s one of my favorite winter purchases — the fabric feels incredibly soft, and that texture holds up after multiple washes. The loose fit looks elevated and classy, which makes it look much more expensive than it actually is.”
Alvarez received this for Christmas and says it was one of the best things she opened that day: “This is the chic, cooler older sister to my claw clips — it looks so sophisticated in my hair and gives me a perfect updo without looking clunky or hurting my hair.” It comes in a variety of colors, including neutrals.
With its gooseneck design and minimal base, this appliance combines the style of a traditional stovetop kettle with the convenience of an electric water boiler. “My kitchen is quite modern so I love that I was able to find an electric tea kettle to match that look,” says Schneider, who received it as a sample from the brand. “It’s super sleek and it heats up really quickly.” You can customize the precise temperature — as compared to only presets — on its LCD screen, too.
An elevated take on a Valentine’s Day classic, this gift set is made in the brand’s LA-based chocolate kitchen and includes four bars: Strawberry Cheesecake, Raspberry Rose, Strawberry Shortcake and Rose Wine. “I love opening a box of chocolate from Compartès because I know I’m always in for a surprise,” says NBC Select commerce editor Cory Fernandez. “All of their chocolate bars have such distinct flavors and the wrappers have beautiful illustrations, which makes them a lot more special than something you can get at a convenience store.”
“One of my favorite gifts to give and receive are sheet masks,” says Alvarez. “When my friends come over for a girls’ night, I pull these out, and we all pop them on our faces for 10 minutes. “It’s the easiest, most mindless way for all of us to pamper ourselves. These Loop masks fit my face really well and once I get each half in the right position, they don’t slip or drip down.” (Ulta has same-day delivery in most locations, so this is a great option if you’re a last-minute shopper.)
This is by far Schneider’s favorite pajama brand: “Once I started wearing their stuff, I haven’t worn another brand since.” Lake sent Schneider this Kimono set (which includes a bell-sleeve wrap top and wide-leg pants, both made from stretchy modal), but Schneider has bought many Lake pieces for herself over the years. “The softness of the fabric is unmatched,” she says. “They make the best pajamas hands down — I highly recommend buying this for anyone you love.”
“Though I’m a huge fan of Magnolia Bakery’s iconic banana pudding, I tend to reach for their cupcakes for special events,” says Godio, who received samples from the brand. “The brand’s Valentine’s Day cupcakes are some of my favorites: they come in a pack of six, including chocolate, vanilla and red velvet flavors with red, white and pink vanilla buttercream and each cupcake is adorably decorated with mini heart-shaped sprinkles and topped with a sugar heart.”
One of our favorite brands for at-home microcurrent treatments, Nuface devices create low-level electrical currents to tighten and tone skin, according to the brand. NBC Select editorial projects manager Rebecca Rodriguez: “The Nuface is part of my daily skin care routine and is five minutes I can take to myself that feels relaxing,” says Rodriguez, who uses the Mini+ every day. “When I use the device consistently, I can see the improved elasticity of my skin and the fine lines on my forehead from constantly furrowing my brow vanish.” This set also includes agel activator, a hydrator and an application brush.

Schneider got her first Longchamp bag over 10 years ago, and it’s still going strong. “The material on the tote is super easy to clean and the nylon’s lightweight so the bag itself never feels like it’s adding to your shoulder load,” Schneider says. “I love that these are back in style since they’re a really reliable functional bag. You can fold it down completely, too, so they’re great to travel with.”
“I always gift Amuseables to my loved ones,” says Malin, who loves these plushies because they’re adorable, compact and great for propping up on a desk or shelf thanks to their bean filling. “I pick ones that remind me of whoever I’m shopping for or find ones that fit a specific holiday — around Valentine’s Day, I tend to gift stuffies in the shape of sweet treats, for example.”
I have thin, naturally curly hair, but the T3 Airebrush gives me voluminous, salon-quality blowouts with its two-in-one design that dries and styles hair at the same time. It “fits great and the soft silk fabric feels cooling and comfortable on my skin (and it leaves no marks when I wake up),” says Godio, who needs total darkness to sleep. “Despite the slippery silk, the band is secure enough to avoid it sliding off my face.” You can get it in several colors, all with matching storage pouches.
“Anyone with long hair knows how crucial a good spa headband is when washing your face at night,” says Schneider. The Weezie spa headband is made from microfiber with a Velcro closure for a secure fit, and for an additional $15, you can customize it with a monogram, name or phrase. “My mom got this for me years ago and it makes the tedious, annoying task of washing my face at night feel just a little bit more fun,” Schneider says. “It’s such a practical, sweet gift that also holds up well in the wash.”
Made from coconut fiber and linen with memory foam on the inside and tons of tiny spikes on top, this acupressure mat and pillow are designed to boost circulation, minimize pain and reduce stress, according to Wthn. “[My muscles] feel so much looser after,” says Malin, who uses it at least once a day. “I sometimes put it on my office chair to use it while I’m on the computer, and I’ve even laid on it on the couch when I’m super tight. I love that the mat comes with a bolster to put where I need extra support, and that the whole thing rolls up into the included duffel bag.”

“This is a great budget gift,” says Schneider. “It’s really practical and the bright colors are easy to spot, so I never have to rummage around my bag to find it. I’ve also tried various earbuds brands too, and I’ve never had any issues with fit, so your Valentine doesn’t have to be a loyal Apple Airpods user to enjoy this. The padding also gives it some nice protection.”
